Obtaining A Marriage In The State Of Washington

Requirements To Obtain a Marriage License:
Both parties must be at least 18 years old.
No blood test, identification, birth certificates or divorce papers are
required.
If you are divorced, the divorce must be final and filed before applying
for the license.
A witness is not required.
Information Required to Apply for a License:
Both the prospective Bride and Groom will be required to provide Social
Security Numbers, date of birth and place of birth, as well as the name
and place of birth of her/his father and the maiden name and place of
birth of her/his mother.
You will be required to sign an Affidavit swearing to the fact that,
to the best of your knowledge, you are:
Unmarried at the time of the application
That you are aware of the status, regarding sexually transmitted
diseases, of your co-applicant
That you are 18 years of age or older
Both the groom and bride, together can visit any County Office location,
(some county locations are listed below).Depending on what county you
receive your license the fee will be $50-$65 (Cash Only) must accompany
the completed application. The license will be issued at the time of
payment. The license is not valid until the three day waiting period has
expired. . This means that you must wait at least three full days after the
application is filed before the marriage ceremony can be performed.
In the state of Washington you must obtain your marriage license no
more than 60 days before the wedding ceremony. If it is not used within
that time frame, it is void and you will be required to re-apply for a new
license. The license is only good in the state of Washington.
